Stipendiet Årets Uppsalastudent har till syfte att främja av unga människor gjorda insatser vid Uppsala universitet i en anda av entreprenörskap och kreativt tänkande. Stipendiet ska i första hand tilldelas en student, som vid nomineringstidens utgång med goda studieresultat fullgjort en stor del av sina studier men inte avslutat sin grundutbildning. I andra hand kan stipendiet delas mellan flera studenter. Stipendiaten/stipendiaterna skall härutöver ha deltagit aktivt i kår- och/eller nationslivet, gjort särskilda insatser till stöd för andra studenter eller utvecklat entreprenörskap med anknytning till universitetets utbildnings- eller övriga verksamhet.
Stipendiet beslutas av Anders Walls stiftelse efter förslag av en nämnd bestående av rektor, prorektor, en representant för Uppsalas studentkårer, en representant för Kuratorskonventet samt en tidigare pristagare utsedd av Anders Walls stiftelse.

The Uppsala Student of the Year award was founded by the Anders Wall Foundation and was awarded for the first time in the year 2000. The scholarship is awarded to a student who has distinguished themselves through their good, creative efforts at Uppsala University, taken part in student union and/or student nation activities, or has made special efforts in support of other students, alternatively has developed entrepreneurship in connection with the University’s activities. The nominee shall have good study results and shall have completed a significant portion of their studies, but not have finished their undergraduate course or programme.
The recipient is decided upon by Anders Walls stiftelse, based on recommendations by a scholarship committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, a representative from the student unions, a representative from the Uppsala student nations, and a previous recipient chosen by Anders Walls stiftelse.
