Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology - Application for academic leave of absence

Form ID: 642

Read through the information below before filling in the form:

If you need to pause your studies you should apply for academic leave of absence from studies to guarantee that you have a place in the programme when you wish to resume your studies. If you interrupt your studies without notification, you will not be guaranteed a place in your programme.

The grounds that entitle you to approved academic leave of absence studies are set out in the Statute Book of the Swedish Council for Higher Education (in Swedish). If you cite other grounds in your application, those who are responsible for the programme decide whether you can be granted approved academic leave of absence. If you are granted approved academic leave of absence, this means you have a guaranteed place after returning from leave. The decision will state when you are expected to resume your studies.

Don’t forget to:

  • Check that you have filled in your contact details correctly.
  • State special grounds and upload certificates (if any) to confirm them.
  • It may be important to notify the Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN), your unemployment insurance fund or the Swedish Migration Agency that you have been granted academic leave of absence.
