Master's Programme in Precision Medicine - Application for admission to later part of programme

If you meet the general and specific entry requirements and have previous attainments equivalent to courses in the Master's Programme in Precision Medicine, you can apply for admission to a later part of the programme. Admission to a later part of the programme is subject to space being available. For programme-specific information – see “other information” at the bottom of the form.


Entry requirements

For admission to a later part of the Master's Programme in Precision Medicine you must have sufficient prior knowledge to be able to benefit from the programme. This means that you must meet the following entry requirements:

Academic requirements

A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. The degree must be in biochemistry/chemistry, biology, biomedicine/medicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics, cell-/molecular biology, genetics, life science, medical sciences, pharmacy, or a similar field of study.

Also required is:

courses in biochemistry, cell biology, bioinformatics, chemistry, genetics, and molecular biology/-genetics totalling at least 30 credits; and courses in statistics, mathematics, or computational science totaling at least 5 credits.

Apart from documentation supporting the general and specific eligibility, the application in English must include: 

a statement of purpose describing your motivation and interest in the Precision medicine Master’s programme (max 1 page/400 words), as well as documentation supporting knowledge equivalent to earlier courses on the programme including:

course syllabi for completed studies

curriculum for the programme of current or previous studies,

other documents that support the applicant’s claim.

Language requirements

Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries. Selection

A selection among candidates will be made in case of more applicants than vacant places on the programme. Selection will be based on overall appraisal of previous university studies and additional merits relevant to the Master’s Programme in Precision medicine as documented in the application as well as an interview.

Admission to the programme is only possible if there is a vacant spot and all requirements are fulfilled. Assessment of the applicants’ qualifications, merits and knowledge equivalent to earlier course content on the programme, will be based on submitted documents as well as an interview.
